What ingredients we don’t use and why

1. Ammonia – Often used for streak-free shine on floors and windows, ammonia can irritate the skin, eyes, and lungs. Repeated exposure has been linked to respiratory issues, especially in children and pets who are close to the ground. We believe a clean home should never come at the cost of clean air.

2. Chlorine Bleach – While bleach is a strong disinfectant, it comes with strong health risks. Exposure can cause skin burns, respiratory distress, and when mixed with other chemicals (like ammonia), it creates toxic gases. Tangie takes a bleach-free approach for a safer home environment.

3. Synthetic Fragrances – Labeled as “fragrance” or “parfum,” these chemical mixtures often contain phthalates and other hormone disruptors. They’re linked to headaches, asthma, skin irritation, and more. We never use synthetic fragrance—our clean comes from ingredients, not perfume.

4. 2-Butoxyethanol – Found in many multi-surface and floor cleaners, this solvent can enter the body through skin or inhalation and may cause liver and kidney damage with repeated exposure. It’s especially risky in poorly ventilated spaces.

5. Phosphates – Though banned in many laundry detergents, phosphates still appear in some floor and industrial cleaners.
