While Enroot isn’t 100% perfect yet, we are making significant strides by eliminating many unhealthy ingredients commonly found in major brands. This is just the beginning—our goal is to continually refine our formula until it meets the highest standards of clean beauty while providing an effective, plastic-free alternative.

Ingredients We Avoid:

Aerosols – Traditional root touchup sprays often rely on pressurized aerosol cans, which contribute to air pollution and ozone depletion. Enroot eliminates these wasteful and harmful delivery systems.

Ammonia & Peroxide – Common in permanent hair dyes, these harsh chemicals can weaken hair structure, irritate the scalp, and strip away natural oils. Enroot offers a gentle, temporary solution—no chemical processing required.

Synthetic Fragrances – Fragrance blends can contain hidden phthalates linked to hormone disruption, headaches, and allergic reactions. Enroot is fragrance-free, avoiding unnecessary exposure to these unknown additives.

Parabens – Often used as preservatives, parabens may mimic estrogen and disrupt hormonal balance. We keep them out of Enroot.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) – These foaming agents are common in shampoos but can irritate the skin. Some studies link SLS to scalp dryness, itching, and damage to the hair cuticle. Enroot is SLS-free to keep your scalp happy.

1,4-Dioxane – A byproduct of SLS/SLES manufacturing, 1,4-Dioxane is a known carcinogen. By avoiding SLS/SLES, Enroot also eliminates this hidden risk.

Propylene Glycol – Often used to enhance ingredient penetration, it may increase skin sensitivity and irritation. It’s unnecessary in a temporary root touchup, so we left it out.

Triclosan – Once common in cosmetics, triclosan is now restricted due to concerns about hormone disruption and antibiotic resistance. Enroot does not contain antibacterial additives.

Phosphates – These chemicals contribute to water pollution by promoting algae overgrowth, depleting oxygen for aquatic life. Enroot is phosphate-free, helping to keep waterways clean.
